An immersive installation of localized, digital media transforms this corporate lobby environment.
Visitors and tenants 330 Hudson Street in lower Manhattan are welcomed by a lobby design that reflects a vibrant neighborhood defined as much by its colorful past as by its changing cultural future.
Owner Beacon Capital Partners challenged ESI Design to create an experience rooted in the local history and architecture that engages the young media-savvy demographic of the neighborhood. The resulting design features a band of custom, mixed-resolution LED screens stretching around the space, activating the environment with both pre-produced and generative media.
Visitors see dynamic and shifting media content throughout the day, keeping the space feeling fresh and alive, including: 330 Hudson Street branding, data visualizations of the building’s environmental sustainability / LEED Gold status, live weather data and cool imagery from New York and other locations. The visuals are complemented by a lighting and audio program synced with the media.
The media works to draw visitors into the building with information, ambience and local color, creating an impactful sense of place from a brief pass-through experience.
“The lobby gives a kind of energy that one doesn’t find in virtually any other building in Manhattan.”
