MuseumNext 2019: The Future of Museum Storytelling

Posted October 11, 2019

ESI Design’s concept for the Statue of Liberty Museum broke the confines of traditional museum design not for a focus on the statue’s historical impact, but rather for the emphasis on encouraging visitors to be active participants in understanding liberty and freedom by interacting with the museum. After its opening day in May 2019, the museum provides an opportunity for visitors to follow the story of the statue on a personalized path to understanding liberty.

As a part of MuseumNext 2019, where museum leaders come together and exchange strategies for unlocking the power of storytelling, ESI Design’s Senior Content and Activity Designer Nick Hubbard will be a panelist in a talk titled “Designing Compelling Museum Stories.” He’ll share how our experience design studio helped make the Statue of Liberty Museum an interactive platform for understanding past, present, and future definitions of liberty.

The Statue of Liberty Museum’s exhibits encourage visitors to actively engage with the statue’s history.
